Carlyle-supported company wants guarantee on new US crude export project

Carlyle Group will appeal to the Trump administration to guarantee a two-year approval of its South Texas crude export project. Carlyle-backed Lone Star Ports LLC aspires to open the first new US crude export facility that can accommodate supertankers. The export facility would require dredging a South Texas ship channel deep enough to facilitate fully loaded supertankers to maneuver at its planned terminal.

Port of Seattle adopts plan to improve sustainability

The Port of Seattle adopted its workplan for the Energy and Sustainability Committee on April 23. The Port identified four areas of focus to improve environmental and community health in Puget Sound and tackle climate change. These are a more sustainable aviation; Sustainable Project Framework Resolution; development of the Port’s Waterfront Clean Energy Strategic Plan; Maritime Blue Maritime Inspiration Awards; and environmental stewardship into New Cruise Terminal.

Port of Charleston uses new Terminal Operating Solution

South Carolina Ports Authority has gone live with a graphical planning solution from Tideworks, at the Port of Charleston’s Wando Welch and North Charleston terminals. This is the first phase of the Port of Charleston project. In this first phase of the project, all stevedores in the port complex have access to the system’s platform to increase process visibility throughout the terminal.
