Abu Dhabi Stations, ATCUAE to advance trade and transport

Abu Dhabi, ADT and the UAE’s Automobile and Touring Club (ATCUAE) will cooperate to strengthen the international road transport system (Internationaux Routiers) regarding the maritime movement of goods under import, transit and export customs regulations using Abu Dhabi Terminals (Khalifa Port) located in Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi invests $1 billion for Port Khalifa expansion

Khalifa Port announced it will invest 3.8 billion dirham ($1 billion) increasing its capacity by 50% by the end of 2020, aiming to meet clients’ demand and expanding the port, according to Reuters. Khalifa port began operations in  2012, and is located between Abu Dhabi city and the financial centre of Dubai where the region’s largest transshipment port Jebeli Ali is located.

Etihad Rail and Abu Dhabi Ports to connect Khalifa Port with National Railway Network

Abu Dhabi Ports, Fujairah Terminals, Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) and network operator Etihad Rail signed an agreement to connect Khalifa Port with the UAE’s national railway network. The facility will ensure the safe navigation of vessels around ports in Abu Dhabi and will provide a variety of services for an efficient access and departure from territorial waters.

Abu Dhabi Ports to become polymer parks

KIZAD, which is an industrial zone and part of Abu Dhabi Ports, announced the launch of the KIZAD Polymers Park, which is expected to form an integral part of the UAE’s polymers conversion ecosystem. The new park will benefit Abu Dhabi’s positions as a development and innovative hub in sustainability and technology, including advanced polymer technologies such as composites and 3D printing.

Khalifa Port to receive 54 automated cranes

Abu Dhabi Terminals selected Konecranes to supply an Automated Stacking Crane system for the second phase of the building of its container terminal in Khalifa Port, namely the Khalifa Port Container Terminal. The order includes 54 Automated Rail Mounted Gantry cranes.
