Cargo ship ran aground off Sweden

The Baltic Carrier, Gibraltar-flagged general cargo vessel gone ashore off the coast of Sweden in the evening of Tuesday, September 24, while transferring from the Russian port of Svetly to Sweden’s Lidkoeping. According to ESL Shipping, the Finland-based charterer, all members of the crew aboard are safe. Moreover, no environmental harm or any leakages were reported.

Sweden’s largest hybrid ferry to begin operations

Danfoss Editron informed that Sweden's largest hybrid-electric ferry, Tellus, is soon to begin operations. The ferry will mainly operate on a fully-electric mode, bringing the government agency closer to achieving its target of becoming fossil-free by 2045. The ferry will service Sweden's busiest maritime routes, along with more than 100,000 vehicles transported per month, the majority being heavy trucks.

Construction of container quay at Stockholm Norvik Port completed

The construction of the 450-metre container quay has been completed at Stockholm Norvik Port. This is considered a major milestone in the development of the Port as now its contours can be seen, and the new functionality is emerging. The building of the container quay is now completed and out on the quay crane tracks are being laid, bollards are being equipped and guardrails, barriers and fenders are being installed.
