Gothenburg and Sweden could be the first in the world to create a joint infrastructure for the transport of liquefied carbon dioxide extracted using CCS technology.

A consortium led by Swedish Carbon Energy Company Liquid Wind will work on the Power-to-Fuel project, eyeing production of liquid, carbon neutral fuel from captured carbon dioxide (CCU) and green hydrogen (from renewable electricity). 

To ensure the continuous flow of shipping and the transport of goods between Sweden and its neighbouring countries, Ports of Stockholm has halved port fees for ferries at all three of the company’s ports.

Konecranes and Yilport announced that inked a contract for the delivery of automated RTG systems to three of Yilport's European container ports. Specifically, the order was booked back in December 2019 and concerns the following container terminals: Yilport’s Gävle in Sweden, Liscont and Leixões in Portugal. 

The ferry 'Princess Anastasia' was grounded off the Port of Stockholm, on November 6. According to initial information brief electric power interruptions were the cause of the incident. The ship has been refloated. The ferry has arrived at the port of Stockholm, and it will continue on its way after conducting the necessary technical inspections and obtaining an opinion from the port authorities of Sweden.

Scandinavian Coast Guard asked the UK MCA to board the Rix Emerald following allegations that the vessel departed Sweden without permission, and disappeared when the Swedish Transport Agency tried to detain the vessel, as the Courier reports.

The Baltic Carrier, Gibraltar-flagged general cargo vessel gone ashore off the coast of Sweden in the evening of Tuesday, September 24, while transferring from the Russian port of Svetly to Sweden’s Lidkoeping. According to ESL Shipping, the Finland-based charterer, all members of the crew aboard are safe. Moreover, no environmental harm or any leakages were reported.
