Finland, Sweden ink agreement for next-gen icebreakers

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency (FTIA) and the Swedish Maritime Administration (Sjöfartsverket) inked a cooperation agreement for the design of the next generation of icebreakers. It is reported that the design of the icebreakers will be conducted as a joint project. However, the partners have only discussed about the design of the icebreakers and not about the possible construction of the icebreakers.

Ferry runs aground off Stockholm after electric power interruptions

The ferry 'Princess Anastasia' was grounded off the Port of Stockholm, on November 6. According to initial information brief electric power interruptions were the cause of the incident. The ship has been refloated. The ferry has arrived at the port of Stockholm, and it will continue on its way after conducting the necessary technical inspections and obtaining an opinion from the port authorities of Sweden.
