The weather service provider, StormGeo along with the Norwegian classification society, DNV GL shake their hands and inked an MoU in order to further develop digitalization and accelerate maritime data sharing within the maritime community.

Norway-based weather forecasting company StormGeo and classification society DNV GL announced the signing of an agreement to consolidate their fleet performance solutions under one banner. The consolidation creates the largest vessel performance data set and developer team in shipping.
StormGeo’s Tropical Cyclone track uses multi-model ensembles and advanced analysis to narrow the “cone of uncertainty,” the area extending out from a storm on a forecasting map that projects a cyclone’s path.
StormGeo has launched the latest version of its onboard software, Bon Voyage System 8. The company gathered feedback from current users to develop the software in line with captains’ needs, helping them to make the right decisions during a voyage.
NAVTOR has signed an agreement with AWT that will see the two companies integrating their services to offer route planning and decision making tools
Private equity group Reiten and TV2 have sold majority shares to EQT Mid Market. EQT will enter into a partnership with DNV GL and StormGeo management.
StormGeo, a global provider of weather and asset risk management for the offshore, shipping, renewable, aviation and media sectors, has acquired Applied Weather Technology (AWT). This acquisition gives StormGeo a world leading position within decision support for weather sensitive operations in the shipping and offshore industries. DNV GL has converted loans and invested an additional NOK 50 mill to secure 24 % ownership in the new company.
