Denmark aims to a smart and sustainable future with the launch of ShippingLab this March. The platform will be used for maritime research, development and innovation and consists of 30 partners. The project is scheduled to run for three years.

Estonian shipping company Tallink Grupp and the TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy started a scientific collaboration with the aim of developing smart ship solutions, for the next two years, according to Tallink’s press release. Wilhelmsen Ship Management has signed two agreements that will establish the operational and regulatory framework in autonomous shipping. The first agreement is about the rise of a safety management system, which is called “safety management system agreement”.
