SINOPACIFIC Shipbuilding Group Promotes Three Ultimate Fuel-saving Bulk Carriers

Winning the Niche Market Through Perfection On May 29, before launch of the Posidonia 2012 in Greece, leading shipbuilding enterprise SINOPACIFIC Shipbuilding Group held an introductory meeting and social gathering in Athens. It highlighted the promotion of the CROWN 63, CROWN MHI 82 and CROWN 121 ultimate fuel-saving and environment friendly bulk carriers which aim at the segmented markets for 60,000 DWT, 80,000 DWT and 120,000 DWT bulk carriers respectively. As the Posidonia 2012 continues, leading industry players gathered in Athens and about two hundreds of ship owners, bankers, brokers attended the activity as well as Simon Liang, the Board Chairman and CEO of SINOPACIFIC.The three products are all based on the design concept of "energy-saving and environment friendly". Guided by the strategy of "perfection in simple products", the SINOPACIFIC design team has continued in its goal of perfection by improving the environmental protection and fuel efficiency indicators to the highest possible level.At a service speed of 14.3-knot, the fuel consumption of CROWN 63 Ultramax bulk carrier is reduced to 25.8 tons/day, reduced by 13% compared to the CROWN 58 (58,000DWT) bulk carrier. MHI, Sinopacific to sign a joint-development agreement

Support to Sinopacific in the area of commercial vessel construction. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) signed a joint-development agreement with Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd. of China under which MHI will provide technological support to Sinopacific in the area of commercial vessel construction.MHI is currently promoting expansion of its engineering business mainly through licensing of technology, while Sinopacific is taking steps to strengthen its shipbuilding business through introduction of technologies from advanced shipbuilders.The respective aims of the two companies thus meshed in concluding the agreement. As their first collaborative work, the two firms will jointly develop an 82,000 deadweight ton (DWT) class bulk carrier.Under the agreement, MHI will provide the conceptual design, including hull shape, for a new ship to be developed by Sinopacific. The initial period of the agreement is five years, with an option to extend. Sinopacific wins order for four bulkers

Sinopacific Shipbuilding said its Crown 63 design feature the EEDI Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group on Saturday penned an order to build four 63,500 dwt supramax bulk carriers for an international shipowner. The order includes an option for two more vessels.Financial terms for the contract were not disclosed. Sinopacific Shipbuilding said its Crown 63 design features the energy efficiency design index (EEDI) parameters to meet the standards of IMO.The Crown 63 design also provides 9% more deadweight tonnage and 13% less bunker fuel consumption."Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group will continue to persist in its strategy of relying on the innovation of business models and advanced technology to maintain its leadership position in this niche market of shipbuilding," said Simon Liang, chairman of Sinopacific Shipbuilding.Source: Seatrade-Asia

Sinopacific Shipbuilding secures order for four bulker vessels

The newbuildings will be classed by Bureau Veritas China's Yangzhou Dayang Shipbuilding, Sinopacific Shipbuilding's affiliate yard, has secured an order from an unnamed European shipowner to build four 63,000dwt bulker vessels.The newbuildings will be classed by French classification society BV.The vessels will be built to Sinopacific-developed standard design and fitted with up-to-date, eco-friendly technologies.The newbuildings will have a larger cargo capacity than existing similar vessels.Source: Ship-technology
