Scandinavian Coast Guard asked the UK MCA to board the Rix Emerald following allegations that the vessel departed Sweden without permission, and disappeared when the Swedish Transport Agency tried to detain the vessel, as the Courier reports.
M/V ‘Agnes’ was detained in port of Azov, Russia, on 15 January 2019. This is the third detention in the Paris MoU region within the last 36 months. The ship carries the flag of Tanzania which is black on the current Paris MoU WGB list. As this is the first refusal of access order the period of the refusal of access will last 3 months.
The Bahamas Maritime Authority issued a bulletin advising the actions to be taken when Bahamian ships are subject to Port State or Flag State detention. The guidance is applicable to all Bahamian ships that have been detained by PSC authorities, including “Administrative” or preventative detentions.
