Rolls-Royce to Supply the Republic of Korea Navy

New FFX frigate for the Republic of Koreas Navy This is the first order for the MT30 in Asia. The FFX frigate will use a single MT30 rather than a pair, which demonstrates that the engine is suitable to power a variety of naval ships. Andrew Marsh, Rolls-Royce, President - Naval said: "We are delighted that the Republic of Korea Navy has selected the MT30 for the first ship in the FFX Batch II programme. The MT30 is the engine of choice to power the world's most advanced naval ships, where demand for power is increasing as more navies choose all-electric ships with sophisticated on board systems. Rolls-Royce wins new order for anchor handler from Italian shipyard

18 million contract with Rosseti Marino shipyard Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has signed an 18 million contract with Italian shipyard Rosetti Marino S.p.A for the design and delivery of an integrated power & propulsion and equipment system for an anchor handling vessel.The vessel will be built for Augusta Offshore S.p.A and is a repeat order of a Rolls-Royce UT 712 CD due to be delivered in June from the same yard.Hans Robert Almestad, Rolls-Royce, General Sales Manager, said: "This is the 12th contract Rolls-Royce has signed with Rosetti and it has further strengthened our position in the Mediterranean market as a leading supplier of mission-critical technology and systems for the offshore oil and gas industry."Due for delivery in mid 2014, the high tech vessel is specially designed and equipped for handling anchors and mooring lines in water up to 2000 metres deep. Rolls-Royce to supply safety critical deck equipment for advanced anchor handling vessel

A 15 million contract by STX OSV Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has been awarded a 15 million contract by STX OSV to supply an extensive deck equipment package for an advanced anchor handling vessel to be operated by Iceman AS.The package, which is designed to improve operational safety, will include a new anchor handling frame (AHF) and a hydraulic anchor winch, which is capable of pulling 500 tonnes. Second Environship order for Rolls-Royce

It is able to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 40% Rolls-Royce has announced a second contract for a vessel to one of its Environship designs, in this case for a 75m LNG-powered vessel for Norwegian company Eidsvaag, to supply fish farms along the Norwegian coast.The NVC 401 forage carrier is the latest design from the Environship range and incorporates a number of features to reduce environmental impact while increasing efficiency. According to Rolls-Royce, it will reduce CO2 emissions by up to 40% compared to similar diesel powered ships.Rolls-Royce will supply all the main systems and equipment, as well as the ship design. The hull design features a wave piercing bow, while the scope of equipment supply includes a Bergen C26:33L9PG gas engine developing 2,430kW at 1,000rpm, driving a Promas propulsion system which combines a CP propeller and rudder. The reduction gearbox handles power take-off and take-in for the 1,100kW shaft generator in a variable speed HSG (hybrid shaft generator ) configuration linked to two 400kW auxiliary gensets. Four oil spill recovery vessels and three bunker tankers Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has been awarded two contracts to design and equip seven vessels for Brazilian ship owner Navegação São Miguel Ltd. The contracts, for four oil spill recovery vessels and three bunker tankers, are worth 23 million to Rolls-Royce.Anders Almestad, Rolls-Royce, President Offshore, said: "Rolls-Royce continues to win contracts in the competitive Brazilian market. These vessels combine a proven Rolls-Royce design with a range of mission critical onboard technology, which has been specifically designed for the demanding deepwater oil and gas market. Our innovative technology will help to ensure that offshore companies can deliver their challenging operations safely."The Rolls-Royce designed UT 535 E Oil Spill Response Vessels (OSRV) will be equipped to prevent environmental damage from oil spills and have the capacity to transfer recovered oil for proper onshore disposal.Rolls-Royce will also design and equip three bunker tankers, which will be a new NVC 604 BT design and will supply fuel to ships offshore.All seven vessels will be equipped with advanced Rolls-Royce technology to support effective maneuvering, cargo handling and safe operation.
