According to Reuters, this week, experts will restart a high-risk salvage operation for the Sounion tanker, which was attacked multiple times by Yemen's Houthis last month in the Red Sea.

According to Reuters, on 2nd September, two oil tankers—the Saudi-flagged Amjad and the Panama-flagged Blue Lagoon I—were attacked in the Red Sea near Yemen.

On 2nd September, the European Union's mission in the Red Sea, Aspides, announced that the salvage operation for the oil tanker MV Sounion, which was recently targeted by Houthi militants aligned with Iran, is set to commence.

A commercial vessel navigating the Red Sea was attacked early morning of September 2nd, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). 

Houthis in Yemen have claimed responsibility for attacking a Liberia-flagged container vessel, the MV Groton, for a second time, as part of their ongoing campaign against commercial shipping in the Gulf of Aden, Reuters reports.
