One actual incident of armed robbery against ships (CAT 2) in Asia was reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 15th – 21st August.

Three incidents of armed robbery against ships in Asia were reported to ReCAAP ISC from 8th to 14th of August 2023. All three occurred to bulk carriers while they were underway in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore (SOMS). 

ReCAAP ISC informed that four incidents were reported on board ships while underway in the eastbound lane of the Singapore Strait, from 7 – 9 August 2023.

Three actual incidents of armed robbery against ships (all CAT 4) in Asia were reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 1 - 7 August.

The ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre (ISC) today held a dialogue with representatives of global and regional shipping associations, as well as shipping companies based in Singapore and Malaysia.

One actual incident of armed robbery against ships (CAT 4) in Asia was reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 25 – 31 July.

In its Half Yearly Report 2023 report, ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre (ISC), provides an insight into the incidents reported in Asia during January-June 2023 compared to the trend of past incidents during the 16-year period of 2007-2022.

Three actual incidents of armed robbery against ships (one CAT 2 and two CAT 3), and one attempted incident in Asia were reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 18 –  24 July.

The ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre (ISC) has released its Half Yearly Report 2023 for the period of January to June.

Six incidents of armed robbery against ships in Asia were reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 11 –  17 July.
