The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) announced that five foreign flagged ships remained under detention in UK ports during September 2022 after failing Port State Control (PSC) inspection.

Norway detained a Vietnam-registered ship, after issuing the vessel 19 orders to rectify due to several major deficiencies that were identified during a Port State Control (PSC) inspection. The ship had a crew of 22 on board.

Paris MoU announced that the cargo ship "SHEKSNA" was detained in Savona (Italy) on 12 August 2022. This is the third detention in the Paris MoU region within the last 24 months.

The member Authorities of the Memorandum of Understanding on PSC in the Black Sea Region (BS MoU) will conduct a concentrated inspection campaign on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW).
