Finnish technology group Wärtsilä and Singapore-based PSA Marine have agreed to collaborate in the co-creation of smart technologies for the marine sector, with a focus on human-centric and deployable solutions. The intention is to integrate knowledge from the IntelliTug project with new configurations of clean energy sources.

Following Wärtsilä's partnership with PSA Marine on developing the project of IntelliTug, both partners achieved a milestone after conducting the first trials at the Port of Singapore under real-world condition. In the following months, Wärtsilä and PSA Marine will keep developing the IntelliTug project, by testing and trialing in Singapore port waters.

On Monday, September 2, Singapore-based port operator PSA International completed the acquisition of Penn Terminals from Macquarie Infrastructure Partners, following formal approval by the relevant regulatory authorities.

PSA Corporation Ltd and Envision Digital International Pte Ltd (Envision) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate in knowledge sharing and capability transfer for development in the fields of engineering, technology, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things.

PSA International, Singaporean terminal, selected Signtel and M1 to conduct 5G trials in a move designed to grow the performance and capability of maritime operations through smart technology in a live environment.

PSA Singapore is collaborating with the Energy Market Authority (EMA) with the goal of improving Singapore's port operations, by making them more efficient and reducing the overall energy usage and carbon emissions. Both participants will launch R&D grant calls in the smart and energy sector, in favour of the container ports at the Pasir Panjang Terminal.
