First de-bunkering for Netherlands

Titan LNG has managed the first de-bunkering of a LNG powered inland waterway barge: the Greenstream in the Dutch port of Moerdijk. The procedure was executed in close collaboration between Amulet Management & Services, Cryonorm, Titan LNG and the Port of Moerdijk with support from the Port of Rotterdam.

J. (Rob) Witte, DGMR advised how to reduce ‘’Noise in Ports’’ during the 2016 GREEN4SEA Conference & Awards. He explained that moored seagoing vessels produce sound that can be perceived as annoying by residents living near harbours. The number of complaints in the Rotterdam Port Area is on average 250/year on this subject

Rotterdam to redirect Betuwe Route port area

The Port of Rotterdam Authority is going to redirect approximately 4km of the port (or first) section of the Betuwe Route. As a result, the railway line will no longer run over the Caland Bridge, so that shipping and rail traffic will cease to get in each other’s way from 2020 onwards. It will also bring an end to all the noise nuisance caused by the rail track near the village of Rozenburg.
