The world’s first class approved 3D printed ship’s propeller, resulting from collaboration between RAMLAB, Promarin, Autodesk, Bureau Veritas and Damen, has been unveiled at Damen Shipyard Group’s headquarters in the Netherlands.

Remco Neumann, the Port of Rotterdam's CSR programme manager, unveiled his vision of the future, noting that in 2050, the port will be a thriving centre of economic activity and employment, generated by industry that release next to no emissions. The port will also be safer and healthier thanks to digitisation and new technologies, with an even stronger focus on the ‘human dimension’. 

The port of Rotterdam has announced that port dues will rise by 1% per year for the next three years. Rotterdam is using this conservative rate of increase in port dues, to increase its competitive position among the surrounding sea ports.

The Port of Rotterdam announced it has become the fifth partner in North Sea Wind Power Hub-Consortium, where it will join forces with four electricity and gas grid companies, in order to continue their studies into the development of a large-scale, sustainable European energy system in the North Sea.

The Port of Rotterdam wants to realise a new multi-fuel bunker station for the refueling of LNG and other cleaner fuels. Krabbegors/Duivelseiland at Dordrecht Inland Seaport has been designated as the location for this bunker station.
