Holthausen Energy Points opened its new hydrogen filling station in the Port of Amsterdam. There it is possible for trucks to refuel 350 bar of hydrogen. This is a temporary location.

The Neo Orbis, Port of Amsterdam's hydrogen vessel, is being built by Next Generation Shipyards from Lauwersoog. This shipyard was awarded the contract after a European tender process.

Due to the drought of the past weeks and the lack of precipitation, the Netherlands is experiencing low river water levels and high salt levels in the canal. The low water levels mean that less water can be brought in, resulting in high salt levels in the North Sea Canal.

Port of Amsterdam and duisport will expand their long-lasting cooperation, as they will jointly develop the hydrogen value chain and their hinterland network. 

Argent Energy, a manufacturer of biofuels in the UK and the Netherlands, is expanding  its second-generation biodiesel production capacity in the Port of Amsterdam to  540,000 tons per year. With this expansion, the company wants to make a significant  contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in road and maritime  transport, and in particular the difficult to decarbonize sector of heavy-duty vehicles. 

Dutch dock workers declined to unload a tanker with a consignment of Russian diesel in the port of Amsterdam, on April 29.

The Port of Amsterdam published its annual report for 2021, indicating that despite the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the energy transition, the Port managed to achieve total turnover of non-fossil cargo, becoming less dependent on fossil cargo in the year of 2021.
