In order to keep up with the increasing number of construction projects in Amsterdam, the City of Amsterdam, Port of Amsterdam, Waternet and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research have launched a partnership project in Amsterdam focusing on building logistics. The pilot project will start in April 2018, with an initial evaluation scheduled for November 2018.

The City Council of Amsterdam officially approved the ‘Westpoort Noise Dispersion Plan’, on 14 March 2018, dividing the available noise zones in the Westpoort section of the Port among the plots of land located in the area. The plan discloses exactly how much noise zones are allocated to the plots located on the industrial site.

Over the past year, the port of Amsterdam saw the total number of maritime accidents in 32, down from 44 the previous year. Around 7,000 seagoing vessels arrived in the North Sea Canal Area in 2017, including nearly 4,700 in the Port of Amsterdam, while approximately 40,000 barges called at the port region.

The location that was selected is the “America Harbour”, and was chosen to enable the transfer of LNG in various ways. Namely, both trucks and LNG transport vessels can discharge LNG into the FlexFueler making it independent from supply of large-scale terminals to load LNG.

Any vessel carrying the Green Award Platinum label will be granted the discount. The Green Award Platinum is awarded by the the Amsterdam and Zaanstad ports, which became the first ports in the Netherldands to award it. The discount for the vessels is effective as of 1 January 2018.

Port of Amsterdam announced that in cooperation with AEB Amsterdam, Senfal  and Energy eXchange Enablers, they will supply ship-to-shore power to river cruise and inland navigation vessels.

Titan LNG has contracted the manufacturing consortium for its FlexFueler001. The project will be realized by the head contractor Kooiman Marine Group, in cooperation with Marine Services Noord and Cryovat International.

Port of Amsterdam revealed plans to reduce shipping emissions and minimise environmental impact by working with the shipping sector. In its Clean Shipping Vision for 2030, the Port describes how it intends to achieve its sustainability objectives through concrete actions, such as reducing emissions of docked sea cruise ships by 50%.

Port of Amsterdam, STC-Group Holding, and Iskes Towage & Salvage signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Port of Fujairah, focusing on further strategic cooperation in oil storage and bunkering.
