The Malaysian energy company Petronas announced that a pipe rupture and a fire incident unexpectedly occurred at the Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP). According to the company, the incidents took place early in the morning, at 1:59 AM, approximately 4 km from Long Selulong, Ulu Baram, Miri.

PETRONAS announced that PETRONAS Floating LNG Satu (PFLNG Satu) at the Kebabangan cluster field, conducted its first LNG drop by its floating LNG facility. The facility is located 910 kilometres offshore Sabah. The first LNG delivery is scheduled for June, 2019.

Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS), through its subsidiary PETRONAS LNG Ltd (PLL), announced another successful completion of LNG break bulk ship-to-ship transfer, that was recently conducted in Brunei Bay. The STS transfers through Arctic and Polar Spirit vessels were conducted in 72 hours, manifesting a just-in-time (JIT) principle, driving the operational cost to the minimum level. 

Malaysian Johor Port, a member of MMC Group, signed a Marine Services Agreement with Petronas LNG, aiming to enable the provisioning of marine services and attractive tariff for vessels that receive Gassing Up and Cooling Down services at PLL’s Regasification Terminal Pengerang.

Petronas and Vitol signed binding Heads of Agreement (HOA) for long-term LNG sale and purchase (SPA) agreement, on 1 October 2018. According to the agreement, Petronas will supply Vitol with approximately up to 0.8 million tonnes per annum for a period of up to 15 years on both Delivered Ex-Ship (DES) and Free on Board (FOB) basis, as from 2024.

One worker is missing after an offshore drilling vessel caught fire off Sarawak, in Malaysian waters, South China Sea, in the morning hours of 17 April.  According to initial reports, at about 3am, an explosion occurred in the vessel's engine room which led to the fire.

Norwegian Ocean Installer informed that it will assist BW Offshore in decommissioning the Berge Helene FPSO on the Chinguetti field, which is located 80 km west of Mauritania, after Petronas implementation of their Demobilization Plan. The operations will begin in March/April 2018.

Petronas, released its Petronas Activity Outlook in which it announces 50 projects that will take place in short term. Out of these projects, 20 of them will be greenfield, which have already facilities, while 30 will be brownfield projects, with some of them needing new facilities.
