The Albanian-flagged general cargo "Deniz S" was detained in the Paris MoU region within Port Burgas in Bulgaria on August 3, 2020. The vessel was flying flag that is black on the current Paris MoU list.

The Albanian-flagged general cargo ship M/V RAFAELO I and the Comoros-flagged livestock carrier M/V ETAB were detained in the Paris MoU region within December. Both vessels flied flags that are black on the current Paris MoU list. 

Paris MoU reiterated its guidance for PSC authorities on resuming inspections related to COVID-19. The guidelines should be applied, as a general principle, on a case by case basis by the relevant port authority, not withstanding any possible national measures.

Paris MoU issued its official report on the 2019 Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on Emergency Systems and Procedures. A total of 48 ships were detained as a direct result of the CIC.

The general cargo ship M/V "DIAMANT” was detained in Port of Rhodes, Greece, on 2 November 2020. This is the third detention in the Paris MoU region within the last 36 months.

The port calls and number of inspections decreased substantially in the period from March to June as a consequence of COVID-19, but port state control efforts have increased since June, according to Paris MoU.
