NYK, Van Oord ink MoU to boost Japan’s wind power

The shipping lines Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) along with the European expert in the wind power, Van Oord shake their hands and inked a MoU in order to jointly own and operate offshore wind installation vessels under the Japanese flag. Specifically, both sides goal to begin operations using a jack up vessel in Japan until 2022, the earliest. 

Norway awards 69 offshore production licenses

The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy announced that offered 69 production licenses on the Norwegian continental shelf, to in total 28 oil and gas companies under the Award in Pre-Defined Areas 2019 (APA 2019). For the records, the first licensing round on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) took place back in 1965.

Petronas puts fire under control in gas pipeline

The Malaysian energy company Petronas announced that a pipe rupture and a fire incident unexpectedly occurred at the Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP). According to the company, the incidents took place early in the morning, at 1:59 AM, approximately 4 km from Long Selulong, Ulu Baram, Miri.

Shell makes gas discovery offshore Australia

Shell officially informed that made a “significant gas and condensate discovery” during its exploration in the Browse Basin off the North West Coast of Western Australia. Specifically, the discovery came when drilling in the Bratwurst-1 exploration well.

Equinor gets drilling permit for its North Sea well

Equinor informed that the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) granted them a drilling permit for well 30/6-31, located in the North Sea offshore Norway. By giving  this green light to Equinor, the company has the ability to begin its drillling activities without any concerns.

The Marseilles Commercial Court recently examined two takeover offers for OSV operator Bourbon Maritime and Bourbon Corporation company. The first offer was from the French company Société Phocéenne de Participation, while the second one came from the de Chateauvieux on behalf of JS & Co.

Orsted signs a 10-year PPA with Covestro AG
