The Joint development project will focus on the development of two 30K LNG carrier designs, one with membrane type LNG tanks and one with type-C (pressurized) LNG tanks.
A large-scale rectangular marine Scrubber was unveiled by MHI and MHPS at the “Nor-Shipping 2017” maritime trade show in Oslo, Norway. The companies claim that the adoption of a rectangular box-shape configuration is a ‘world’s first’ and is able to offer outstanding ease of installation in small spaces and superlative emissions treatment for high-output engines.
Nowadays, there is a continued need for ship designs to evolve to provide further alternatives to traditional oil-fuelled designs. As new building orders in larger size ranges are expected, Hyundai Heavy Industries and Lloyd’s Register announced at Nor-Shipping 2017 a joint development project to design 180k DWT class bulk carriers.
