NAPA and DSME keep collaborating on fuel saving software

Ministers, Jung Hong-won and Alexander Stubb, highlighted a landmark 50th deal for the collaboration between Finland’s NAPA Group and Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), as an illustration of the importance of the maritime industry to both nations. At a ceremony in Seoul held during a visit by Finland’s Prime Minister accompanied by a Finnish business delegation, the two national leaders joined Vice President Head of Basic Design Team of DSME, Odin Kwon and President of NAPA Group, Juha Heikinheimo to mark the 50th order for NAPA-DSME Power, a joint solution for fuel saving and eco-efficiency in ship operation. NAPA has been working with DSME to provide fuel saving optimization software to the international shipping industry since early 2011. As part of DSME's Green Ship concept, the collaboration directly supports efforts to reduce bunker fuel costs, the highest expense in running a modern vessel. EU funds NAPA ports for LNG Masterplan

The European Union, in the framework of the Ten-T call, co-funded North Adriatic Ports with 322.000 euros (50% of the eligible costs) for the realization of a Masterplan to design a comprehensive value chain for the use of LNG (liquefied natural gas), and other low emission solutions. These actions will help to increase fleet competitiveness, efficiency, and sustainability while at the same time providing substantial environmental benefits as requested by the forthcoming stricter environmental regulations and the most recent EU directives. Project Leader is Qatar Energy Europe (an advisory company owned by Qaatar Investment Fund with expertise focused on energy sector), with the support of partners from Italy, Greece, Qatar and leading shipping company as Contship Italia and the Grimaldi Group. The project leader for Napa Ports will be Venice Port Authority with a budget of 110.000 euros, Trieste (Italy), Koper (Slovenia) and Rijeka (Croatia) ports will have a budget of 70.000 euros each. ClassNK acquires NAPA to benefit maritime safety and performance

Agreement will improve ship design and operational efficiency ClassNK today agreed to acquire NAPA in a deal hailed as benefitting the improved safety and performance of the whole maritime industry.The acquisition, will significantly enhance the success and capabilities of both organisations.
