A German 33-year-old singer is reported missing after going overboard from the cruise ship Aidaluna, while off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, in the early morning hours of Sunday. Daniel Kueblboeck became famous in 2003 from his participation to the German version of Pop Idol.

The Panamanian-flagged tanker 'Pantalena' has docked at a port in Togo, after missing for over a week along with its 19 crew, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Friday. Contact with the ship was lost on 14 August, while it was sailing about 17 miles off Gabon, in the Gulf of Guinea.

A sailor assigned to cruiser 'USS Lake Erie' has been declared missing after failing to report for duty. The ship conducted man-overboard procedures but was unable to locate the sailor. This comes after the news that the missing Marine Corps Cpl. Jonathan Currier was declared dead on August 17.

Indian authorities detained two crewmembers and the Master of the VLCC 'Desh Shakti', after concluding that this ship was likely responsible for the hit-and-run collision with a fishing boat off Kerala earlier this month. The vessel reportedly made a brief halt but continued its journey 'without bothering to undertake any rescue operations.'

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Georgia informed that the ship 'Pantelena' sailing under a Panamanian flag with 17 Georgian sailors on board has been missing since August 14. Contact with the lost ship, which was transporting oil, was last established while it was sailing near the west coast of Africa, in Guinea Bay.

Another hit-and-run incident was reported off Kochi, India, after an unidentified merchant vessel hit the fishing vessel 'Oceanic' off Kerala in the early morning hours of Tuesday and left without providing assistance. Three people were killed and nine are missing as a result from the collision.

Two people are unaccounted for, after a recreational boat, carrying six people onboard, collided with an oyster barge being pushed by a tug near the James River Bridge, Virginia, on Saturday morning, according to the US Coast Guard. Four people were rescued by Good Samaritan vessels. 

A fishing ship collided with an unidentified cargo ship in Vietnam's northern Quang Ninh province, in July 15. As a result, seven fishermen fell into the sea, while three went missing. Four fishermen were rescued and brought onshore for medical treatment. Rescuers are now searching for the three Vietnamese fishermen.

The freighter Shunqiang 2, which at the time of the incident was carrying 3,000 tonnes of rolled steel, collided with another vessel and sank in the Wusongkou anchorage near Shanghai, causing 13 people to fall overboard. Only three of them have been rescued. Search and rescue efforts are currently taking place.

The UK Coast Guard informed that it suspended the search and rescue operation for a missing person from a ferry, off the Aberdeenshire coast in the late hours of 27 June. HM Coastguard was contacted by the MV Hjaltland just after 11 pm Wednesday reporting the missing person.
