A captain was rescued 66 hours after falling off a large bulk carrier in the Java Sea, according to Turkish and Indonesian authorities.

As the efforts to locate the survivors of the Japanese boat continue, rescuers declared the death of another child, increasing the death toll to 11 so far, following the boat accident.

One fisherman lost his life and another one is missing after a trawler sank seven miles South of Hook Head, Ireland, on 4 January, according to data provided by RNLI. The vessel activated an EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) alert on 10.30 pm Saturday. 

Three inter-island Taio Shipping Limited vessels have been detained by the Ministry of Transport in the Cook Islands, after a young boy from Auckland disappeared from a vessel last month. The seven-year was lost when on board the MV Lady Moana, travelling from Rakahanga to Rarotonga.

Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency announced that they are halting the search and rescue operations for the missing Indonesia-flagged Nur Allya. The vessel disappeared in late July. According to the authorities, the operations stopped on September 9.
