The crew of MISC’s LNG vessel, Seri Begawan rescued a Filipino fisherman stranded in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean, 400 nautical miles from Philippines coast, on 26 May 2018. The fisherman was 20 days adrift at sea and he was found on a small boat, after the lookout on duty at the navigation bridge spotted him.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission started an investigation on MISC, regarding bribery allegations. The company said that it will cooperate with MACC in the investigation and will provide support as well. MISC officials are suspects for alleged corruption for about $28 million. MACC followed up on an information regarding alleged MISC officers making false payment claims.

MISC Group, a maritime solutions and services provider, received the "Seri Camar", the fourth in a series of five MOSS-Type Seri C Class LNG carriers. The 150,200 CBM LNG carrier has been built for MISC by Hyundai Heavy Industries. Seri Camar will joins its sister MOSS-Type newbuilds Seri Cenderawasih, Seri Camellia and Seri Cempaka on long-term charter to Petronas.

MISC Berhad maintained its position in the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Index, a sustainability indice. In the latest assessment, MISC’s overall rating improved further to 3.3 compared to 3.0 recorded in December 2016.

Malaysian MISC has entered into a Share Purchase Agreement with Dialog, for disposal of 45% equity interest held by MISC in Centralised Terminals Sdn Bhd. Upon completion, CTSB will cease to be a joint-venture company of MISC and this marks MISC’s exit from the tank terminal business.
