Ports of Antwerp, Zeebrugge examine possible merger

The Port of Antwerp, Europe’s second busiest port, and the Port of Zeebrugge have started discussions on a potential merger after almost two years of exploratory talks and a study regarding how the two ports could collaborate more. As the two ports said in a joint statement, the negotiations on the possible merger could last another two years.

Tianjin container terminals merge

COSCO Shipping Ports Limited announced that its two wholly-owned subsidiaries, COSCO Ports (Tianjin) Limited (CP Tianjin) and China Shipping Terminal Development Co., Ltd., entered into a merger agreement with Tianjin Port Holdings and CM Terminals, as of 30 June. 

CMPort completes acquisition of Brazilian container terminal

China Merchants Port Holdings Company Limited completed acquisition of Paranaguá Container Terminal in Brazil, the biggest so far in Brazilian and Latin American port sector. On 22 February, the signing of the letter of intent closed the TCP transaction in the Federal Senate of Brazil.
