Port of Tanjung Pelepas the first Southeast Asian port to welcome the largest container ship

Port of Tanjung Pelepas became the first port in Southeast Asia to welcome Mediterranean Shipping Company latest and largest container vessel as part of its maiden voyage in the South East Asia region. PTP also became the first port in the world to achieve back to back record for highest utilisation of a container vessel when the ship left the port with the record load of 19,574 TEUs.

MSC to ship directly between Costa Rica and Port of Antwerp

The ‘MSC Katya R’ of 4,112 TEU is one of the seven ships that MSC operates between Ecuador and Northern Europe. The ships will serve Moín on a weekly basis and Antwerp will now become the first European unloading port, before Rotterdam and Bremerhaven.

MSC invests in modernization of container terminal at Port of Las Palmas

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) along with the Port Authority of Las Palmas have ratified an investment plan for the Port of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. The aim is to establish the Port of Las Palmas as a key hub for shipping traffic with the African West Coast. Approximately EUR 9 million will be funded to modernize the Port, a process that will take place over the course of eight years.

Singapore’s GIC buys stake in MSC’s container terminal operator

Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC has acquired a 10% interest in Terminal Investment Limited (TIL), the sixth largest container terminal operator in the world, which handles the container volumes of Geneva-based giant Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).

Pronto reports process improvement at ECT Delta Terminal Rotterdam

MSC omits calls for some vessels in Port of Sines

Mediterranean Shipping Company, MSC, is for the time being omitting calls at  Sines Container Terminal in Portugal due to an oil spill caused by a Panama-flagged vessel. The company is looking for alternatives in order not to harm the terminal’s operations.
