MSC to promote electronic bill of lading in India

In light of the COVID-19 quarantine and lockdown measures, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) will further accelerate efforts to boost an electronic Bill of Lading (e-BL) across the shipping sector.

Pronto reports process improvement at ECT Delta Terminal Rotterdam

An increasing number of shipping companies, terminals and nautical service providers in the Port of Rotterdam are sharing information in real time via the digital platform Pronto. A pilot project at the ECT Delta Terminal, operated by Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam, indicated that this ‘single point of truth’ can lead to significant improvements.

Major shipping companies form Digital Container Shipping Association

A.P. Moller – Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd, MSC and Ocean Network Express have established the Digital Container Shipping Association in the Netherlands, after gaining regulatory approval from the Federal Maritime Commission in March. Thomas Bagge is the CEO and statutory director of the DCSA. The association has already started working on enhancing standardization, digitalization and interoperability.

Abu Dhabi Ports, MSC to create blockchain solution

Maqta Gateway, an Abu Dhabi Ports subsidiary, announced that it will conduct its first testing of international blockchain solution ‘Silsal’, along with  a maritime operator. This will happen in cooperation with MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company. ‘Silsal’ provides a link between stakeholders across the trade community using the electronic ledger system.
