The European Investment Bank and Dutch bank, ABN Amro, will sign an agreement to support investments for greening the European shipping fleet. The agreement will ensure that promoters of sustainable projects in the maritime transport sector can benefit from favourable financial terms, as a result of the EIB's AAA rating.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced the launch of a grant funding, aiming to modernize the US’s diesel fleet by retrofitting or replacing vehicles with cleaner, more efficient diesel engines. The Diesel Emission Reduction Program foresees the award of at least $11 million grant to eligible applicants.

Relying on bio LNG rather than regular LNG allows users to drastically reduce CO₂ emission levels.

The Government of British Columbia, Canada, announced that is taking action, under the Climate Leadership Plan, to support investments by natural gas utilities, that will increase the use of LNG and renewable natural gas in the marine transportation and other sectors and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

UK P&I Club issued a report in order to advise on safe transportation of soya beans. According to the report, Brazil is expected to produce a record soya bean crop yield this year, which is reflected in the number of vessels currently queuing at Brazilian ports.
