ORBCOMM will be providing satellite AIS data for ship tracking and other maritime navigational and safety efforts to Canada.
NASA exercised options according to the Rapid Spacecraft Acquisition III contract for two Joint Polar Satellite System. JPSS satellites will collect global, multi-spectral radiometry and other specialized meteorological, oceanographic data through remote sensing of land, sea and atmospheric properties.
