SEA\LNG, the coalition aiming to accelerate the adoption of LNG as a marine fuel, announced that it has added another member in its membership coalition: MAN Diesel & Turbo. SEA/LNG will try to leverage MAN’s focus in converting existing vessels to operate using LNG as a fuel.
MAN Diesel and Turbo
Shell Marine has officially launched ‘Shell Alexia 140’, a two-stroke engine cylinder oil which offers protection for the most modern efficient engines against cold corrosion issues and optimise oil feed rates when fuel grades change.
MAN Diesel and Turbo announced that its L51/60DF engine successfully passed its Type Approval Test, which ran from October 17 at the company’s Augsburg works in Germany, in front of the industry’s main classification societies.
MAN Diesel & Turbo is to supply four-stroke engines will expand the existing “Sund” power plant near the capital Tórshavn and will run on Heavy Fuel Oil to generate both electrical power and heat for the district heating network on the island. The project has emphasis on restricting the impact on the environment by significantly reducing the level of NOx.
HHI, Wärtsilä, MAN Diesel & Turbo, CMM and DNV GL have jointly partnered for the LPGreen project which aims to develop a more energy efficient, environmentally friendly, and safer vessel for the transportation of LPG products
