Baltic Exchange Chief Executive, Mark Jackson, has set out the Exchange’s ambition to play a bigger role in the shipping industry, building consensus in the market, by moving into the LNG and container spaces and remaining at the heart of the bulk shipping industry for the long-term.

Klaipėdos nafta and Fluxys signed a memorandum of understanding, to collaborate closely in the development of small-scale LNG projects and infrastructure in Europe. Hyundai Merchant Marine has singed a letter of intent with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering for the construction of five 300,000 dwt very large crude carriers, with an option of five more vessels. Discussion about LNG carrier engine & Eco-friendly technology will be also made.

Wison Offshore & Marine announced that the company has developed a multi-functional carrier named Wison-LNG-Distributor. With scalable capacity between 5000 to 20,000 cubic meters, the Wison-LNGD integrates the functions of LNG loading, bunkering and container delivery, aiming to make regional LNG redistribution more efficient.
