Qatargas has delivered the first LNG cargo on a Q-Flex vessel to Greece’s Revithoussa LNG Terminal. This is for the first time that a Q-Flex LNG ship has called at the terminal, since it expanded last year. The cargo was loaded at the Ras Laffan Terminal in Qatar on 3rd July 2019, and it arrived at the Revithoussa Terminal on board the Q-Flex vessel 'Al Gharrafa', on 20 July 2019.

Malaysia-based Kasi Group announced the launch of an LNG bunkering simulator in the country. According to the company's Executive Director it will be Malaysia's first LNG bunkering simulator.

Japan could lose its pole position as the world’s top LNG importer to China as early as 2022, according to a new report by energy consultancy Wood Mackenzie. By then, LNG imports in Japan are expected to decline 12% to 72.8 mmtpa compared to 2018, while China’s import volume rises 37.5% to 74.1 mmtpa.

DNV GL published the revised 'Assessment of selected alternative fuels and technologies in shipping', to provide decision support for investments in ships, for the following five to ten-year period. In the report, DNV GL has identified LNG, LPG, methanol, biofuel and hydrogen as the most promising solutions.

As part of its efforts on environmental leadership, the Government of Canada announced a $275 million investment supporting LNG Canada’s major LNG complex in Kitimat, British Columbia. This $40 billion project represents the largest single private sector investment in the history of the country.

Japanese company Tokyo Gas signed an agreement regarding the sale and purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with Sumitomo Joint Electricity Power. The two partners aim to boost LNG as a fuel in the area, while also promote it as a stable and efficient use of energy. 

ClassNK has released Guidelines for Ships Using Low-Flashpoint Fuels (Methyl/Ethyl Alcohol / LPG), that outline safety requirements for other viable alternative fuels besides LNG, based on the latest technology and regulation trends in order to promote the design of alternative fueled ships.

Houston-based liquefaction project Cameron LNG has shipped the first commissioning cargo of LNG from the first liquefaction train of the export project in Hackberry, La, according to Sempra LNG, a subsidiary of California-based Sempra Energy. 

Belgium-based Fluxys LNG announced the subscription window for LNG services at the Zeebrugge LNG terminal, held from 30 April to 24 May, has seen a positive outcome. Fluxys LNG will now submit the required regulatory documents to Belgian federal energy regulator CREG.

On 16 May, JAX LNG, a liquefied natural gas facility located at Dames Point in Jacksonville, Florida, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to signify the official start-up of the newly constructed plant. JAX LNG is the first small-scale LNG facility in the US with both marine and truck-loading capabilities.
