According to international news, the first FSRU for Cyprous has begun at Cosco Shipyard. The vessel is preparing for trials before departing for the Mediterranean.

DNV issued a statement on the progress of Alexandroupolis Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU). According to DNV, the work to develop Greece’s first  FSRU commenced recently at the Keppel shipyard in Singapore with the conversion of GasLog’s Gaslog Chelsea, recently renamed as Alexandroupoli. 

Turkey’s new floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) is expected to enter Turkish waters within the month.

SAAM Towage enters El Salvador to provide its services for the Energía del Pacífico (EDP) project at the Port of Acajutla, boosting its presence in Central America and the company's commitment to the region. Specifically, the 378MW plant will run on LNG and includes a floating storage and regasification platform.

As Xinhua reports, Cyprus is signed a 290-million-euro agreement with a Chinese-led consortium for the construction of Cyprus' first liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal, mainly used for electricity generation.

Royal Vopak announced that it acquired a 49% shareholding in Sociedad Portuaria el Cayao (SPEC) in Cartagena, Colombia. SPEC is the only LNG import facility in Colombia and has been operating for three years, since 2016. The LNG import facility includes an LNG jetty, onshore infrastructure and a 9.2 km gas pipeline which links SPEC to the national gas grid.

MOL and Karadeniz Holding A.S. (Karadeniz) announced that MOL and Karpower International B.V. (Karpowership), a subsidiary of Karadeniz, have agreed to jointly conduct the first LNG-to-Powership project under the co-brand Karmol in Mozambique.

A consortium comprising of China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co Ltd, Aktor S.A. and Metron S.A., Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Co. Ltd and Wilhelmsen Ship Management Limited, was announced as the preferred bidder for a contract, which sees the construction of an LNG terminal, near Vassiliko Port in Cyprus.

Bangladesh has employed its second LNG terminal with the beginning of operations of FSRU 'Summit LNG' offshore Moheshkhali Island in the Bay of Bengal. As reported by Excelerate Energy the FSRU completed the commissioning on April 29, 2019.

Bangladesh’s second LNG storage and regasification vessel has moored off its coast, aiming to help supply the country with the alternative fuel. The FSRU 'Summit LNG' is moored 6 km off the island of Moheshkhali in Cox’s Bazar. It is expected that around 3.75 million tonnes a year of LNG will be imported through the facility, thus doubling Bangladesh’s LNG import capacity to 7.5 million tonnes per year.
