First LNG bunker license in Port of Rostock for Kairos BSV

Kairos, the world’s largest bunker supply vessel (BSV) for liquefied natural gas (LNG), received the first license to conduct LNG ship-to-ship bunkering operations in the port of Rostock earlier in December. It is said that the permit to conduct ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operations in the largest German Baltic Sea port will be the basis for the supply of LNG to a variety of customers. Preparations for the supply of LNG to their vessels are already ongoing and the first operations will be conducted within the next few weeks.

Port of Amsterdam doubles discount for vessels with ESI and LNG

As of 1 August, the Port will be increasing this incentive by doubling the maximum ESI discount for vessels that are in the possession of an ESI certificate and use LNG for their main engine or auxiliary engine. The Port also aims to have a bunker pontoon for LNG in place in the Port of Amsterdam by the end of 2018.
