France, India to develop satellites for continuous ship tracking

On 22 August, during the state visit to France of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an agreement was signed by CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall and Sivan K, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), to start development and production of a constellation of satellites, to track tracking ships continuously.

India, France to launch satellites for maritime surveillance

India and France announced their plan to launch satellites aimed for maritime surveillance, as French space agency CNES chief Jean-Yves Le Gall informed. The satellites will focus on the Indian Ocean and they will constitute India’s largest space cooperation with any country.
