The IMO Sub-Committee on Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping (HTW 10) took place 5-9 February 2024, discussing the process for a comprehensive review of the STCW Convention and Code and key items for approval in the next Maritime Safety Committee (MSC).

According to DNV, the 10th session of the IMO’s Sub-Committee on Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping (HTW 10) was held from 5 to 9 February 2024, where a comprehensive revision of the STCW Convention and Code was initiated to address experiences, emerging challenges and technological advancements. 

The tenth session of the  IMO Ship Design and Construction Sub-Committee (SDC 10) met in London 22 - 26 January 2024, where many technical and operational requirements related to ship design and construction (including tonnage, load line and stability) were discussed.

The 9th session of the IMO Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC) discussed a draft MEPC circular on recommendations for the carriage of plastic pellets by sea in freight containers, as requested by the Sub-Committee on Prevention of Pollution and Response (PPR). 

The 9th session (20-29 September) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC), made progress on the development recommendations for entering enclosed spaces onboard.

The 9th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC), took place from 20-29 September, where various matters were discussed, including a revision of the IGC code.

IACS has submitted proposals to the forthcoming 9th session of the Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC 9), which will meet from 20 to 29 September 2023.
