Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. held naming ceremony for a newly-built LNG carrier at Nagasaki Shipyard of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. The ship will have a tank capacity of 155,300m3 and she will be carrying LNG from the Ichthys LNG Project in Darwin, Australia to Naoetsu, Niigata after her delivery. 

Vocus Group Limited announced the successful connection of its high-speed fibre-optic North-West Cable System, to the INPEX-operated Ichthys LNG Project and Shell’s Prelude FLNG facility located off the north-west coast of Australia. 

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha held a naming ceremony for the newly-built LNG carrier, currently the largest Moss-type LNG carrier, at Sakaide Shipyard of Kawasaki Heavy Industries. After delivery, the ship will be carrying LNG from the Ichthys LNG Project in Darwin, Australia to Taiwan.

On 17 July, the INPEX-operated Ichthys LNG Project’s floating production, storage and offloading facility "Ichthys Venturer" sailed away from its construction site in Okpo, South Korea en route to Australia, after completion of commissioning and preparation work.

INPEX announced that the world’s largest semi-submersible platform and the central processing facility of the Ichthys LNG Project safely arrived in the Australian waters of the Browse Basin, on May 29th. The 120,000-tonnes "Ichthys Explorer" reached her final destination, 220 kilometres off the north coast of Western Australia, where she will be located for 40 years.

INPEX has announced the successful installation completion of the complex network of subsea infrastructure and equipment to safely and efficiently extract gas and condensate from the Ichthys Field for the world-leading Ichthys LNG Project.

ALE has completed its scope of work at the Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities in Darwin, Australia, using the Hydro Deck for the first time. ALE was contracted by JKC Australia Ltd to load-out 178 pre-fabricated modules from a range of heavy lift vessels.

Svitzer announced its order of two additional ASD tugs from Sanmar Shipyards to service the multi-billion dollar INPEX-operated Ichthys LNG Project in the Port of Darwin, Australia.

 DNV GL has secured a contract to provide in-service verification and classification services to a range of facilities at the Ichthys LNG project in Australia.The contract marks INPEX’s commitment to continue working with DNV GL as it prepares to transition from the project execution phase to the operational phase of the mega project. DNV GL has provided vendor inspection, verification and offshore classification support to the USD 34 billion venture since 2012.  This latest contract will see DNV GL continue its expert support to the project as it transitions into operation in 2017. The primary scope of work includes in-service verification of the Ichthys facilities; the central processing facility (CPF), floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO), subsea production system, gas export pipeline, onshore combined cycle power plant and onshore LNG plant.
