GTT receives order from Hyundai Heavy Industries for a FSRU

GTT announced the order of a new FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit) which will be built by the Korean shipbuilding Company Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). The regasification unit is expected to be delivered in 2017 and will be built with the proven Mark III technology. The cargo tanks will be equipped with an optimized containment system configuration to allow all partial filling ability. This FSRU will be the fifth one in the series at HHI and the seventh one in total owned by the Norwegian Company Höegh LNG, and equipped with GTT membrane. The order, received in November, highlights the importance of the partnership between HHI and GTT and the Höegh LNG’s trust in membrane technologies. Commenting on this latest notification, Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT declared “We are pleased to further strengthen our relations with our Korean partner HHI and with Höegh LNG while noting that our technologies are once more recognized by the LNG industry.” Source: GTT / Image Credit: Höegh LNGIn the starting, I was frank with you propecia before and after has changed my being. Oman Shipping Company takes delivery of the Adam LNG

Oman Shipping Company (OSC) has taken delivery of the Adam LNG, which is described as an advanced fuel efficient LNG carrier. The 162,000 cubic metres capacity vessel was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in Ulsan South Korea. The newly-delivered LNG carrier will operate worldwide with 25 crew including four Omani cadets, according to OSC. OSC Acting Chief Executive Officer, Tarik Al Junaidi, said: “ The delivery of the Adam LNG, together with the ordering of 11 medium range products tankers, reflects our ambition to grow not only in Oman, and the Middle East, but also worldwide.” Mr Al Junaidi said key innovations on the Adam LNG included its propulsion system and the design of its aft hull form. “To slash harmful emissions we have deployed the latest Dual Fuel Diesel Electric (DFDE) technology,” he said. “This enables the engine to operate on the lean-burn principle which increases engine efficiency and reduces peak temperatures which cuts Nitrogen Oxide emissions. In addition the ship has been coated with a new low friction paint which reduces fuel consumption by improving the sailing efficiency of the vessel. It does this by reducing the friction resistance of the hull. Furthermore, the design of the aft body hull forms a ...

ABS to Develop Design Criteria for Subsea Pipelines

Hyundai Heavy Industries has awarded ABS a contract to develop subsea pipeline design and training guidelines in support of FEED  ABS has announced the award of a contract from South Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) to develop a set of subsea pipeline design criteria and associated training materials. The criteria will include guidelines for global buckling and stability analyses supplemental to the ABS Guide for Building and Classing Subsea Pipeline Systems and applicable industry and site condition standards. As a significant number of deepwater and ultra deepwater subsea fields come online within the next decade, offshore pipeline infrastructure will need to be expanded safely to transport additional production volumes to shore. One potential hazard to designing subsea pipelines is buckling, which can compromise structural integrity due to loss of in-place stability and potential development of excessive bending. ABS will analyze this and other potential subsea pipeline design issues to support the safe and reliable development of transportation infrastructure as well as subsea processing systems. "As operations move farther offshore into deeper water and high pressure/high temperature environments, subsea pipelines must be designed in accordance with the full range of industry design standards as those standards are one of the ...
