26 dead, 49 still missing after barge sinking

Following the sinking incident of "Barge P305" off Mumbai, the Indian Navy informed that so far 188 of the 261 people who were on board, were rescued. https://twitter.com/indiannavy/status/1394944014915276808 To remind, Barge P305 sank on Monday 17th May, during the severe Cyclone Tauktae. Until now, as many as 26 personnel on board the barge are dead, while 49 still missing, after Navy personnel, battling extreme weather. In light of the situation, Indian Navy launched a fresh aerial search and rescue mission, deploying helicopters to scour the waters off Mumbai coast, where the accommodation barge P305 went adrift in Cyclone Tauktae fury before it sank Monday. "The Navy's Search and Rescue (SAR) operations entered the fourth day today. Naval ships and aircraft are presently undertaking SAR of the missing crew members of Accommodation Barge P-305, which sank on Monday 35 miles off Mumbai," ....a Navy spokesperson told to local media sources. Overall, ships & aircraft will continue to search for the missing crew members.

Indonesian ferry capsizes at pier amid Seroja cyclone

The Indonesian RoRo ferry JATRA I capsized at pier at the port of Kupang, amid severe weather caused by Cyclone Seroja, on 5 April. While berthed at Kupang, the 1980-built ship was caught in heavy weather, sustaining a hull breach and subsequent water ingress. Shortly after, the ferry developed a portside list, local media reported. There were no injuries as passenger operations had already been suspended amid development of the cyclone, and all of the 31 people onboard had already disembarked. Tropical cyclone Seroja hit eastern Indonesia last week, claiming lives of at least 150 people so far.
