Helicopter operations are considered to be complicated high risk operations, as they involve personnel / equipment and crafts other than vessel’s and they demand accuracy, training and clearly established procedures. The crews associated should show high level of situational awareness and seamanship.

The Singapore-flagged cargo ship 'IVS Phinda' has rescued two Australian sailors Monday morning, 370 kilometres north of Darwin. The sailors were travelling from Indonesia to Australia on their yacht, the 'Jepeda IV', when they lost their mast in rough weather.

A wave hit the stern of a platform supply vessel and caused the cargo to move. The incident took place while the PSV was working both stern to weather and stern towards the rig, IMCA informed. At that time one crew member was located on the deck in an unsafe position, close to the containers. No injuries were reported.
