DNV GL presents updated bulk cargo liquefaction guidance

DNV GL, Classification society, launched its updated bulk cargo liquefaction guideline at the Nor-Shipping trade fair this week. The Guidelines were firstly published in October 2015; The revised Guidelines are based on feedback from readers and practical experiences that resulted in the past.

USCG updates guidelines for successful stability tests

USCG announced that the Marine Safety Center published an updated Plan Review Guidelines and Design Verification Guidelines, regarding: GEN 05 – ‘Stability Test Procedures’. This Plan Review Guideline provides guidance and information for carrying out successful stability test and submitting stability test procedures.

Guidance for proper crew accommodation

UK MCA provides suggestions for operators to ensure the crew’s safety and comply with Merchant Shipping Regulations. All structures, furniture and fittings & means of access to and egress from the crew accommodation should be situated and constructed as to minimise any risk of injury to the crew.
