On the sidelines of the 8th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, Russian oil giant Gazprom and British oil major Shell signed a Framework Agreement on the joint design concept (pre-FEED) for the Baltic LNG project.

On the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum, Russian Gazprom and Japanese Mitsui & Co. Ltd. signed a MoU on the LNG plant project Baltic LNG. The parties also discussed the ongoing cooperation on the Sakhalin II project, which includes Russia's first LNG plant.

Following a ceremony in Saint-Petersburg, on 29 June, Russia's new icebreaker 'Alexander Sannikov' has joined the national Arctic fleet, becoming the first icebreaker built under the 'Arctic Time' program. Gazprom Neft's icebreaker is designed to support tankers transporting oil from the Novoportovskoye field in the Gulf of Ob.

Half of the offshore section for the TurkStream Offshore Gas Pipeline has been installed. Namely, over 930 kilometer of pipeline has been laid in total on the seabed of the Black Sea, divided over two strings. Pioneering Spirit, the vessel conducting deep-water sections of the pipeline, passed kilometer point 706 for the first line.

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Seung-Il Cheong, President and CEO of KOGAS, took place in Moscow earlier this week. The purpose of the meeting was to address the status of LNG supplies to South Korea from the Sakhalin II project, as well as the potential for increasing exports.

Gazprom received a permit to lay the second string in the exclusive economic zone and territorial waters of Turkey and has all of the required permits from the Turkish Government. Both strings of the gas pipeline will be put into operation before the end of 2019.

South Stream Transport has officially announced the start of construction of the receiving terminal of the TurkStream Offshore Gas Pipeline. With the start of the onshore construction in Turkey, the project is now being implemented in three construction areas: onshore Russia, onshore Turkey and offshore Black Sea.

A long-term LNG Sale & Purchase Agreement building up to 2.5 MMTPA of LNG on Discharge-ex-Ship basis was executed by GAIL with Gazprom in 2012, with the supply starting in 2018. The two parties will adjust the price and volume of LNG supply, enabling GAIL to develop incremental gas markets.
