Last week, GasLog Ltd and GasLog Partners LP, owners and operators of LNG carriers, announced that they  entered into an agreement under which GasLog will acquire all of the GasLog Partners LP common units that are not beneficially owned by GasLog.

ABS, Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) and GasLog are joining forces to promote carbon neutral shipping.

GasLog and GasLog Partners decided to assume commercial control of their ships currently operating in the LNG carrier spot market through The Cool Pool. The Cool Pool is an LNG carrier pooling agreement between GasLog and Golar, focusing on spot fixtures of up to 12 months in duration.

Kongsberg Digital and GasLog inked an agreement for Kongsberg to deliver an LNG simulator package designed to enhance safety and operational training for GasLog’s crews. The simulators will be installed in GasLog’s Technical Management HQ in Piraeus, Greece.

GasLog released its first-quarter revenue report in which it says that global LNG supply continues to increase, with Wood Mackenzie forecasting 9% growth in volumes during 2018. Several major projects are making progress and GasLog is confident that more liquefaction capacity will be created in 2018 and 2019.

Greek owner, operator and manager of LNG carriers GasLog announced that it has ordered a newbuild 180,000 cubic meter LNG carrier from South Korean Samsung Heavy Industries. The vessel, to feature XDF propulsion, is scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2019. 

Wärtsilä has signed a maintenance agreement with Monaco-based GasLog LNG Services, covering eight LNG carriers operating on Wärtsilä dual-fuel engines. The agreement covers Dynamic Maintenance Planning, technical support and technical personnel as well as constant performance monitoring.

ABS and GasLog LNG Services have completed a joint development project, revealing a new approach to evaluating LNG boil-off rate. Accurate assessment of the rate of LNG boil-off gas generation is critical for the design of the cargo tank and the boil-off gas processing system.

GasLog Ltd. has announced that Keppel Shipyard Limited has begun ordering long lead items required for the conversion of a GasLog LNG carrier to a floating storage and re-gasification unit ("FSRU").

GasLog has announced that it has signed a time charter party with Centrica to charter a vessel,ordered from Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea, for a period of seven years. The vessel is a 180,000 cubic meter LNG carrier with XDF propulsion.
