Working with Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction Co., Ltd., as it just completed a new Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) design concept, ABS issued a safety guidance and advice on regulatory compliance throughout concept development.

Indian company, H-Energy, announced that signed an agreement with French electricity company, Engie, for chartering its FSRU GDF SUEZ Cape Ann. The Floating Storage Re-gasification Unit has been chartered by H-Energy for a period of 5 years and will arrive at the LNG jetty, at Jaigarh port, by Q3 2018.

Wison Offshore & Marine announced that the company has developed a multi-functional carrier named Wison-LNG-Distributor. With scalable capacity between 5000 to 20,000 cubic meters, the Wison-LNGD integrates the functions of LNG loading, bunkering and container delivery, aiming to make regional LNG redistribution more efficient.

LR and Hyundai Heavy Industries have signed a joint development project to commence an approval in principal for a barge mounted power plant, Hi-Floating Power™. By separating duel fuel engines into two independent compartments, the design of the barge provides efficient operation, even in case of emergencies, as fire.

Wärtsilä has been contracted to provide both equipment and maintenance for FSRU and LNG carrier vessels of Norway based operator, Höegh LNG. The orders were booked in the first quarter of 2017.

Hyundai Heavy Industries announced that it held a demonstration ceremony for the installation of LNG regasification system using glycol, at a 170,000 cbm LNG FSRU. Since the glycol regasification process is free from saltiness, unlike a system that uses seawater, it can minimize corrosion in major equipment.

ABB will supply the power and electric propulsion system to a new Floating Storage and Regasification Unit for BW Group. The equipment onboard will provide data to the shore-side Centers in order to give a proactive approach to maintenance throughout the lifetime of the vessel.

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. announced a plan to acquire a 5% share in Seajacks International Limited Group, which owns and operates five Self-Elevating Platform vessels, from Marubeni Corporation. This consists the first step to move into the renewable energy business field, through involvement in installation of offshore wind power generation systems, which is expanding in Europe and other areas around the world.
