UK MAIB published its report on a man overboard incident from the single-handed creel boat Sea Mist. The incident took place on 27 March 2019, and resulted to the loss of one life.

During the meeting of North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC), the EU and other participants decided on some specific conservation and management measures for 2020, while also agreed on measures to tackle illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Namely, the Commission suggests that from 2020, those vessels should be equipped with a vessel monitoring system or other equivalent electronic monitoring system and have observers onboard. This would allow scientists to gather more and better data on the stock.
