A Boholano seafarer was found dead inside his cabin in a vessel while docked at a fishport in the United Kingdom in what has been initially considered a suicide.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released its Safer Seas Digest 2023, highlighting the most important lessons learned from 31 maritime tragedies that took place in 2023.

INTERCARGO published its Bulk Carrier Casualty Report, reporting that 21 bulk carriers of more than 10,000 deadweight tonnes (dwt) were reported lost, with the tragic loss of 89 seafarers’ lives,  for the years 2014-2023.
