Watch: ExxonMobil introduces 2020 compliant fuels range

ExxonMobil introduced EMF.5, its range of engineered marine fuels, specifically designed to help operators comply with the IMO 2020 global sulphur cap. The company says that the new product does not compromise fuel quality. ExxonMobil has also developed a n40BN cylinder oil, to work with low-sulphur fuels. It will be available across its port network along with our EMF.5 range of fuels.

ExxonMobil expands its Singapore refinery

ExxonMobil has completed an expansion at its Singapore refinery to upgrade its production of EHC Group II base stocks, aiming to enhance the global supply of base stocks and improve the integrated facility’s competitiveness. The expansion will allow customers to blend lubricants to comply with stricter regulations, reduce emissions and improve fuel economy as well as low-temperature performance.

Petrobras to test 2020 sulphur cap compliant fuel

Brazilian Petrobras informed that it will carry out tests starting in June, aiming to evaluate the production of 2020 sulphur cap compliant fuel. As the company said, it does not know the exact viscosity, but it expects it to be lower. During April, Petrobras produced its first set of 0.5% sulphur fuel oil, from its Isaac Sabba refinery in Manaus. The fuel had 0.34% sulphur content, viscosity of 323cst at 50°C and density of 932.7 kg/m3 at 15°C.

ExxonMobil partners with the Netherlands presenting hydrocracker plant

ExxonMobil and the Netherlands' government leaders met in the Port of Rotterdam to celebrate the beginning of a new installation at the port's refinery. The project reflects an investment of more than a billion euros. The hydrocracker plant uses a first in the world combination of proprietary process and catalyst technology to efficiently produce both high-quality base stocks and ultra-low sulphur diesel.
