The new Alaska-based company Qilak LNG revealed plans to ship natural gas from the North Slope field to Asian markets, under a proposed Alaska North Slope LNG export project (Qilak LNG 1 Project). To this end, the company announced an agreement with ExxonMobil Alaska Production to ship LNG from Point Thomson.

Exxonmobil, oil major, is going on trial after being accused of falsifying information on the investors about the potential impact of climate change regulations on the company's operations, as it firstly used figures that were different from what they presented publicly when discussing the impact on laws and taxes.

ExxonMobil inked a five-year agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras and Bombay to expand its portfolio on research collaboration with India’s universities, focusing on research in biofuels and bio-products, gas transport and conversion, climate and environment, and low-emissions technologies for the power and industrial sectors. 

Oil majors such as Royal Dutch Shell and Exxon Mobil were among the groups selected to build five LNG terminals in Pakistan, as the country aims to triple imports and ease gas shortages, said Omar Ayub Khan, Pakistan’s minister of power and petroleum. 

ExxonMobil informed that it made an oil discovery on the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana at the Tripletail-1 well in the Turbot area. The discovery comes to add to the previously announced estimated recoverable resource of over 6 billion oil-equivalent barrels on the Stabroek Block.

Carbon Tracker highlighted that oil and gas companies are not in line with the Paris climate goals given their projects and the investments. The oil and gas in projects that have already been sanctioned will take the world past 1.5ºC, assuming carbon capture and storage remains sub-scale.

Sinanju Logistics Services signed into a two-year time charter agreement on 25 July with ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (ExxonMobil) for a new-build bunker tanker five months ahead of commencing operations. The 7,990 dwt newbuilding, soon to be christened “Marine Vicky”, will be the first bunker tanker for Singapore and Sinanju, to be fueled mainly by LNG.

Sources report that about 66 people suffered minor injuries when the fire broke out on July 31, at a massive ExxonMobil plant in Texas. Allegedly, the fire broke out at a polypropylene recovery unit where plastic is purified for production.

ExxonMobil introduced EMF.5, its range of engineered marine fuels, specifically designed to help operators comply with the IMO 2020 global sulphur cap. The company says that the new product does not compromise fuel quality. ExxonMobil has also developed a n40BN cylinder oil, to work with low-sulphur fuels. It will be available across its port network along with our EMF.5 range of fuels.
